Green General-Purpose Medium-Cut Buffing Compound for Sanding Marks, Weld Marks, Pitting and Oxidation
Designed for the transition between rough polishing and final mirror finishing.
Its moderate cut addresses sanding marks, weld marks, die-casting pits, light oxidation and brushed textures.
The compound leaves a fine natural pre-gloss, helping remove one intermediate grinding step while reducing edge-collapse risk on thin or small parts.
It supports multiple metals and hard plastics, and the thin oil film can be cleaned more easily with water or alcohol.
• Balances moderate cut and pre-brightening for the transition from rough polishing to mirror finishing.
• Targets sanding marks, weld marks, die-casting pits, light oxidation/rust and brushed textures.
• Supports stainless steel, zinc alloy, aluminum, copper, wrought iron and hard plastics, subject to the GSW model table.
• Gentler action with light pressure, a soft folded buff and steady movement helps reduce edge collapse or distortion on thin hardware.
• Good adhesion helps reduce unnecessary compound loading and consumable waste.
• Leaves a thin oil film that can be cleaned with water or alcohol, reducing white-haze and black-residue cleanup.
• GSW-01 through GSW-04 provide different material, gloss, cut and oiliness combinations for standardized processes.
Product Certification
Green Buffing Compound is a general-purpose medium-polishing product for multi-material production lines. It refines sanding marks, weld marks, die-casting pits, light oxidation and brushed textures left after rough polishing, while creating a uniform base for the final high-gloss stage. Used alone, it normally produces a fine natural or semi-gloss finish. For a higher mirror level, follow with a material-matched finishing compound and a clean soft cotton buff.
The range includes GSW-01 to GSW-04. GSW-01 covers zinc, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, steel/iron and titanium; GSW-02 covers zinc, aluminum, copper, stainless steel, steel/iron and plastics; GSW-03 and GSW-04 cover zinc, copper, stainless steel, steel/iron and titanium. Their cut is moderate or gentle, while gloss ratings differ, so select by substrate and target surface rather than color alone.
For thin-wall or small hardware, pair it with a softer folded buff, light pressure, a suitable lower speed and continuous movement to control heat and edge distortion. If haze or blackening appears, check for buff contamination, excess compound, high pressure and localized overheating.

Features & Advantages
• Balances moderate cutting with natural brightening and can remove an intermediate grinding step.
• Multi-material coverage reduces inventory complexity, but selection must follow the GSW model table.
• Gentle action helps preserve thin walls, small hardware and edge geometry.
• Good adhesion reduces sling and frequent recharging.
• The thin oil film is comparatively easy to clean with water or alcohol.
• Pairs with disc and multi-layer cotton buffs for a stable medium-polishing process.
• Four models provide different gloss levels for target-finish segmentation.
Applications
• Medium-polishing transition for stainless bathroom hardware, cookware and general metalware
• Refinement of sanding marks and pits on zinc and aluminum die castings
• Pre-brightening of copper and brass decorative parts
• Weld-mark, light-rust and oxidation correction on steel or wrought iron
• Lower-damage medium polishing of thin-wall and small hardware
• Surface refinement of hard plastics, using only a specifically listed GSW grade
• Batch production of automotive parts, bathroom hardware and general hardware
How to Use
1. Define the material, defect depth, incoming abrasive finish, target gloss and whether a final finishing step will follow.
2. Select the candidate product from the GSW model table; do not assume suitability from the green color alone.
3. Use a clean disc or multi-layer cotton buff. Keep dedicated wheels for different compounds and, where practical, different substrates to prevent cross-contamination.
4. Verify wheel and machine dimensions, rated speed and guarding. Operate local exhaust and wear suitable PPE.
5. Charge lightly and intermittently. Start with light pressure and a lower safe speed; use a softer buff and continuous movement on thin or small parts.
6. Monitor scratch refinement, gloss, heat, oil film and edge retention. For haze or blackening, first check for a dirty buff, excessive pressure, overloading and heat.
7. Clean with water, alcohol or a validated degreaser. For mirror finishing, change to a clean soft buff and a finishing compound matched to the material. Approve the process on a matching sample before production.
