18-Inch Bias Sisal Corrugated Buffing Wheel for Heavy Plate and Tube Roughing

18-Inch Bias Sisal Corrugated Buffing Wheel for Heavy Plate and Tube Roughing is positioned for first-stage heavy roughing of welds, rust, deep scratches and thick oxide.

It uses high-hardness bias-cut sisal construction in bias-cut sisal with corrugated airway pleats.
It is intended for large metal-component plants, tube processors, welding shops and heavy rough-buffing lines, working mainly on large stainless-steel, iron and aluminum workpieces.

Selection value: Targets severe-defect work on large plates and tubes through aggressive bias sisal, 18-inch coverage and corrugated cooling.

• Size / model: 18 in / approximately 457 mm; confirm face width, bore and flange dimensions for the customer’s machine.

• Material & construction: high-hardness bias-cut sisal construction; bias-cut sisal with corrugated airway pleats.

• Manufacturing: bias sisal forms stable cutting edges while the corrugated structure supports cooling and chip evacuation during sustained large-area work.

• Performance / process stage: first-stage heavy roughing of welds, rust, deep scratches and thick oxide. Recommended pairing: select a heavy-cut compound for the metal and defect; always test soft aluminum at low pressure first.

• Surface fit: large plates, tube exteriors and heavy components. Operating tip: treat welds and thick oxide in sections, increase pressure gradually and keep the wheel moving; maintain one feed direction on large tubing.

• Suitable materials: large stainless-steel, iron and aluminum workpieces.

• Supply options: Samples and wholesale orders are available. Diameter, face width, ply/pleat construction, center plate and bore can be discussed for customization. Neutral packaging, custom logos, MOQ and OEM/ODM service are subject to the formal quotation.

Product Certification

This 18-inch Bias Sisal Corrugated Buffing Wheel uses high-hardness bias-cut sisal construction in bias-cut sisal with corrugated airway pleats. bias sisal forms stable cutting edges while the corrugated structure supports cooling and chip evacuation during sustained large-area work.

It is designed for first-stage heavy roughing of welds, rust, deep scratches and thick oxide and suits large plates, tube exteriors and heavy components. Typical materials include large stainless-steel, iron and aluminum workpieces. Compound guidance: select a heavy-cut compound for the metal and defect; always test soft aluminum at low pressure first.

For large metal-component plants, tube processors, welding shops and heavy rough-buffing lines, the core value is clear: Targets severe-defect work on large plates and tubes through aggressive bias sisal, 18-inch coverage and corrugated cooling. Selection note: The high-hardness sisal is unsuitable for thin delicate parts or final mirror work; follow with intermediate and cotton finishing stages.

Features & Advantages

• Material & treatment: high-hardness bias-cut sisal construction; aggressive rough-cut construction for welds, rust and thick oxide.

• Construction benefit: bias-cut sisal with corrugated airway pleats; bias sisal forms stable cutting edges while the corrugated structure supports cooling and chip evacuation during sustained large-area work.

• Process value: designed for first-stage heavy roughing of welds, rust, deep scratches and thick oxide.

• Surface fit: large plates, tube exteriors and heavy components.

• Buyer benefit: Targets severe-defect work on large plates and tubes through aggressive bias sisal, 18-inch coverage and corrugated cooling.

Applications

• Removal of welds and deep scratches from large stainless plates

• Rough processing of rust and thick oxide on iron parts

• First-stage roughing of large-diameter tube exteriors

• High-efficiency preparation before intermediate stages on heavy lines

How to Use

1. Inspect the wheel, center plate and cloth layers. Confirm the 18 in / approximately 457 mm diameter, actual face width, bore and rated speed against the machine.

2. Mount with the correct flanges and guarding. During the no-load test, stand clear of the plane of rotation and stop immediately for wobble, abnormal vibration or damage.

3. Dedicate wheels to different metals and compounds where possible. select a heavy-cut compound for the metal and defect; always test soft aluminum at low pressure first.

4. Operating technique: treat welds and thick oxide in sections, increase pressure gradually and keep the wheel moving; maintain one feed direction on large tubing.

5. Maintain overlapping passes and control heat. Do not substitute excessive pressure for correct preparation or the correct compound.

6. Wear suitable eye/face protection, gloves and work clothing, and provide effective local dust extraction. Clean or dress the face after shutdown; do not reuse a damp, loose or damaged wheel.
