8-Inch Thick Red Oil-Impregnated 45° Angle-Cut Sisal Buffing Wheel for Metal Polishing

★ Made from bias-cut linen fabric; because it is cut at a 45-degree angle, the fibers do not shed, resulting in high cutting efficiency during grinding. At the same time, the curved edges are suitable for concave polishing.

★ Thickened red oil-impregnated sisal with high hardness and strong cutting power. Its compact 8-inch size is ideal for heavy-duty coarse polishing of small hardware, locks, and bathroom fixtures, effectively removing weld marks and deep scratches. The thickened layer ensures durability and long-lasting wear resistance. The hexagonal-toothed inner hole is compatible with small polishing machines or fully automatic polishing machines, and is designed to be used with yellow wax for coarse polishing.

Features & Benefits

1. 45° Bias-Cut Process, Minimizes Lint Shedding
By cutting the hemp or cotton base material at a 45-degree angle, the fiber structure remains stable, minimizing lint shedding and debris during polishing. This results in minimal contamination of the workpiece surface and a clean, polished finish.
2. Powerful cutting action and high scratch-removal efficiency
The substrate possesses sufficient hardness and excellent grinding capability, enabling rapid removal of surface scratches, weld marks, and burrs from workpieces, significantly reducing rough polishing time.
3. Adaptable to various workpiece contours
Capable of polishing both flat surfaces and grinding irregularly shaped curved surfaces, it offers high versatility—a single grinding wheel can handle multiple polishing processes.
4. Improved Production Efficiency and Reduced Consumable Costs
It offers higher polishing throughput while reducing the consumption of polishing wax and oil, leading to long-term savings on auxiliary materials.
5. Longer Service Life and Superior Wear Resistance
The compact, wear-resistant construction ensures slow wear rates, reducing replacement frequency and effectively minimizing downtime for wheel changes.
6. Wide Range of Sizes, Compatible with a Broad Range of Equipment
Available in outer diameters of 6–12 inches, with multiple bore sizes and layer options to choose from. Also supports hexagonal-tooth bore structures. Compatible with manual polishing machines and fully automatic polishing equipment, making it suitable for coarse polishing of metals such as hardware, tableware, bathroom fixtures, and locks.

Manufacturing Process

1. Selection of Base Material
High-density hemp cloth or 100% cotton fabric is selected as the raw material. The fabric features uniformly thick fibers and high tensile strength, ensuring the finished product’s overall abrasion resistance and cutting power.
2. 45° Bias Cut
The fabric is not cut straight but strictly at a 45° angle. After bias cutting, the direction of force on the fabric fibers changes, making it less likely for the fibers to loosen and fall off during high-speed rotational friction during polishing, thereby reducing fiber shedding at the source.
3. Oil-Impregnation and Hardening Treatment (Red Oil Impregnation)
The cut fabric pieces undergo a red oil impregnation process. The oil fully penetrates the fabric fibers; after drying, the fabric becomes harder and more rigid, providing greater cutting power during polishing. This process also enhances heat resistance and slows the rate of wear during high-speed grinding.
4. Layering and Compaction
The oil-impregnated fabric pieces are neatly stacked according to the number of layers specified by the customer and compacted under high pressure using specialized equipment. This ensures that each layer of fabric adheres tightly, preventing delamination or loosening.
5. Die-Cutting and Shaping
Using a die, the material is cut to a standard outer diameter (6“–12”) with a pre-drilled inner hole—typically a round hole (hexagonal or serrated inner holes are also available)—to ensure compatibility with fully automatic polishing machines.
Edge Sealing and Reinforcement
The outer circumference of the wheel is sewn and sealed to prevent the fabric edges from fraying or delaminating, further extending its service life.
6. Drying and Setting
Finished products are placed in a constant-temperature oven to dry, stabilizing the internal oils and eliminating internal stress, ensuring the polishing wheels resist deformation and maintain uniform hardness.
7. Final Product Inspection
Inspect the outer diameter, inner bore, thickness, and number of layers; check the flatness of the wheel; and screen for defects such as loose layers, material shortages, or loose threads. After passing inspection, the products are packaged and stored in the warehouse.

Frequently Asked Questions About Procurement

This product is formed by spirally weaving 8 strands of sisal yarn. Its fiber interlacing density is 40% higher than that of ordinary sisal wheels, resulting in a more compact structure with superior tensile strength. The 8-strand three-dimensional weave provides inherent elasticity, allowing it to conform to uneven and irregularly shaped workpieces, while increasing cutting force by 50%. Even during high-speed operation, it is less prone to fiber unraveling or material snagging; Ordinary single-layer sisal wheels have loose fibers and are only suitable for simple, rough grinding on flat surfaces; they show a significant difference in wear resistance and adaptability to curved surfaces.

1. Oil-impregnated type: 60% increase in surface wear resistance, providing stronger cutting performance and reduced wire breakage; suitable for fully automated production lines and high-volume rough polishing of stainless steel and zinc alloys;
2. Virgin, paste-free type: More flexible texture and better heat dissipation; suitable for copper, aluminum, thin workpieces, and manual polishing; less likely to cause burns on soft workpieces.

Made from select Grade A long-fiber sisal, this rope is woven from 8 twisted strands → secured around a galvanized steel core with evenly spaced, radial teeth → compacted through multi-layer stacking → reinforced with a locked outer edge; optional oil-soaking, sizing, drying, and hardening processes are available. All finished products undergo dynamic balancing calibration and are packaged after manual quality inspection for dimensions and density.
