18-inch Blue Denim Stitched Extra-Thick Cotton Buffing Wheel

An extra-thick 18-inch stitched denim buffing wheel with the strongest cutting action in this cotton-based range.

Coarse, dense fibers are built for thick iron, carbon steel and heavy stainless parts with weld marks, deep stamping patterns or scale.

It is a durable first-stage production wheel that should be followed by finer cotton grades when a bright or mirror finish is required.

• Size / model: 18 in / approximately 457 mm; confirm wheel width and center-hole dimensions for the customer’s machine.

• Material & construction: coarse, dense and rigid blue denim fabric; extra-thick layered and stitched denim wheel.

• Manufacturing: multiple denim layers are stacked and stitched to withstand prolonged high-pressure grinding.

• Performance / process stage: aggressive cutting, defect removal and coarse buffing. Recommended compound: yellow or purple polishing compound, as stated on the product page.

• Surface fit: large robust parts, weld areas and heavy stamped surfaces. Secure the part, apply controlled pressure and follow with progressively softer wheels for refinement.

• Suitable materials: thick iron, carbon steel and heavy-duty stainless steel.

• Supply options: samples and wholesale orders; custom diameter, thickness and stitching are available by enquiry. Neutral packaging, custom logo printing and OEM/ODM support can be discussed before quotation.

Product Certification

The 18-inch blue denim extra-thick wheel is the aggressive problem-solving option in the cloth polishing category. Dense, rigid denim fibers provide the highest cutting action in the line and are intended for heavy iron, carbon-steel and stainless components.

Its role is to attack weld marks, deep stamping patterns and thick scale before medium and final polishing. The layered stitched construction resists tearing during prolonged, high-pressure production, while denim holds yellow or purple compound effectively for sustained cutting.

This wheel should be sold to heavy fabricators and industrial job shops as the first cloth-wheel stage after, or alongside, coarse abrasive preparation. A green, blue cotton or white finishing wheel is normally required afterward to refine the scratch pattern and build final gloss.

Application boundary: Too aggressive for delicate, thin, plated or final-finish parts; it is not a one-step mirror-polishing wheel.

Features & Advantages

• Highest cutting power among the cotton-based wheels in this category.

• Rigid denim fibers attack weld marks, deep stamping patterns and scale.

• Extra-thick stitched construction resists tearing under sustained pressure.

• High compound retention supports efficient coarse polishing.

Applications

• Coarse buffing of heavy iron and carbon-steel components.

• Reducing weld marks and deep stamping patterns on robust parts.

• Removing thick surface scale from heavy-duty stainless workpieces.

• First-stage production polishing before medium and final cotton wheels.

How to Use

1. Inspect the wheel before use and confirm the diameter, bore, width and rated speed match the machine.

2. Mount it with the correct flanges and guarding; run the wheel without load while standing clear of its plane.

3. Keep a dedicated wheel for each compound and material family to prevent cross-contamination.

4. Apply yellow or purple polishing compound sparingly and refresh it only when cutting or gloss begins to fall.

5. Secure the part, apply controlled pressure and follow with progressively softer wheels for refinement.

6. Use trained operators, eye and face protection, suitable respiratory protection and effective local dust extraction. Stop if vibration, damage or unusual heat appears.
