16-Inch Blue-Treated Cotton Buffing Wheel for Heavy Polishing
A deep-hardened 16-inch loose cotton buffing wheel for strong cutting and high-throughput metal preparation.
The broad working face rapidly levels emery-wheel scratches and light oxide scale on large stainless steel sheet, pipe and bathroom hardware.
It is designed for factories that need faster intermediate polishing before moving to a softer finishing wheel.
• Size / model: 16 in / approximately 406 mm; confirm wheel width and center-hole dimensions for the customer’s machine.
• Material & construction: deep-blue hardened multi-layer cotton cloth; large loose-form wheel with spiral multi-layer stitching.
• Manufacturing: multi-layer cotton is hardened and spiral stitched for durability in demanding production.
• Performance / process stage: coarse-to-medium buffing and scratch leveling. Recommended compound: yellow compound for coarse buffing or purple compound for medium polishing, as stated on the product page.
• Surface fit: large sheet, tube and irregular metal surfaces. Start with light contact, increase pressure only as needed and test carefully on thin copper or aluminum parts.
• Suitable materials: stainless steel, steel hardware and other metals after coarse preparation.
• Supply options: samples and wholesale orders; custom diameter, thickness and stitching are available by enquiry. Neutral packaging, custom logo printing and OEM/ODM support can be discussed before quotation.
Product Description
Built for production environments, this 16-inch blue-treated cotton buffing wheel combines a large contact area with a significantly harder cloth face. It is intended to smooth the scratch pattern left by coarse emery operations and remove light surface scale before the finishing stage.
The loose form follows broad irregular surfaces while the hardened, stitched construction resists rapid wear. That makes the wheel relevant to stainless sheet processors, tube and railing manufacturers, sanitaryware plants and other buyers running large batches on automatic or heavy vertical machines.
Position the product as a high-output cutting and intermediate buffing wheel, not as the last mirror-finishing step. Compound choice controls the result: yellow compound supports coarse work, while purple compound moves the part toward a medium finish before a softer cotton wheel is used.
Application boundary: High cloth hardness can mark ultra-thin copper or aluminum if excessive pressure is used; a softer wheel is required for final gloss.

Features & Advantages
• Deep-blue treatment delivers the strongest cutting response among the loose cotton options.
• Wide 16-inch contact face improves coverage on sheets, tubes and large hardware.
• Spiral multi-layer stitching increases wear resistance during batch production.
• Loose construction adapts better to irregular surfaces than a fully rigid wheel.
Applications
• Leveling emery-wheel scratches on stainless steel sheet and decorative panels.
• Intermediate polishing of large metal pipes, rails and fabricated sections.
• Preparation of bathroom and sanitary hardware before final brightening.
• High-throughput buffing on automatic lines and heavy vertical machines.
How to Use
1. Inspect the wheel before use and confirm the diameter, bore, width and rated speed match the machine.
2. Mount it with the correct flanges and guarding; run the wheel without load while standing clear of its plane.
3. Keep a dedicated wheel for each compound and material family to prevent cross-contamination.
4. Apply yellow compound for coarse buffing or purple compound for medium polishing sparingly and refresh it only when cutting or gloss begins to fall.
5. Start with light contact, increase pressure only as needed and test carefully on thin copper or aluminum parts.
6. Use trained operators, eye and face protection, suitable respiratory protection and effective local dust extraction. Stop if vibration, damage or unusual heat appears.
